XPAG Engine. The block is early Y Type, the head I think early TC. The head was modified to stage two, with the depth about 74mm deep (9:1). It was certainly ported and had the larger valves and 150lb springs fitted. The included exhaust manifold is standard and needs 2 new down pipe studs. The 3rd is new.
A reground crank is fitted, with new bearings of course. An AEG122 cam was fitted originally, so must still be there! Pistons re-ringed, except for the top ring. +030” bore?
Ignition is by Lucas 4VRA magneto with side cover modified to suit and special long dynamo adjustment bracket to permit the rev counter drive to clear the magneto.
Includes thermostat and housing. Rebuilt several years back, it would probably now want the head lifting to check on things.

Engine turns , it wasn’t that long ago….

Included in the sale are several gasket sets and a few other spares exhaust manifold included. £2750.***SOLD***

IMPORTANT - Please Read

  • It is sad to report that even in our little corner of the internet there are fraudsters and scammers operating. A T-Typer who recently posted a "Wanted" advert has received a response from someone who claimed to have "the parts" he was after, asking for payment via Western Union money transfer (a haven for scammers) and quoting a PO Box address. We can only echo the cautionary note given by Craigslist at the top of every classified ad: Beware any deal involving Western Union, Moneygram, wire transfer, cashier check, money order, shipping, escrow, or any promise of transaction protection/certification/guarantee.
  • When you receive a response to a Wanted advert on ttypes.org, apply common sense. Does the person sound like a T-Typer? Ask for photos of all of the parts, including close-ups on serial numbers or other distinguishing features. If the person refuses or makes excuses, do not continue with the deal. Likewise, if you are selling parts, then be absolutely sure that any payment has cleared completely before shipping anything. Where possible, deal locally, face-to-face, or failing that, use PayPal, which affords you a level of buyer protection.
  • The worldwide MG T-Type community is close-knit, and at ttypes.org we know personally many of the individuals that are part of it, so if you have any doubt at all about a transaction, contact us in the first instance before proceeding with any deal.
