MG YA Rolling chassis Special project

Parts For Sale / Wanted
Added: October 26, 2019 Modified: October 27, 2019
  • Location: Presteigne, Powys / Herefordshire, United Kingdom

Nice sound rolling chassis mostly complete, has V5c in my name plus data plates from bulkhead and body number plates, nice original three letter 2 digit number not a Scottish area one.

A good basis for a 2 seater Special, has steering rack and rear dampers. Getting hard to find now as most have been scrapped for the engines and racks for TD RHD conversions or the bodies have rusted.

Selling as a complete lot, will not split.

£800 of brake parts from NTG + new sets of brake shoes all round

XPJM Engine - seized through standing needs overhaul

YA gearbox - good, worth doing seals on

YA Bonnet with catches - good - choice of three and part of scuttle ready to adapt

YA Radiator and shell - good -choice of 2

19" wire wheels x 6 for restoration - some need a couple of spokes (Wire wheel adapter hubs are available to bolt on to existing studs I have info.)

Steering column and wheel

Have contact for body panels that may suit.

Have other project coming soon.

£2,500 Located Herefordshire / Powys border.

IMPORTANT - Please Read

  • It is sad to report that even in our little corner of the internet there are fraudsters and scammers operating. A T-Typer who recently posted a "Wanted" advert has received a response from someone who claimed to have "the parts" he was after, asking for payment via Western Union money transfer (a haven for scammers) and quoting a PO Box address. We can only echo the cautionary note given by Craigslist at the top of every classified ad: Beware any deal involving Western Union, Moneygram, wire transfer, cashier check, money order, shipping, escrow, or any promise of transaction protection/certification/guarantee.
  • When you receive a response to a Wanted advert on, apply common sense. Does the person sound like a T-Typer? Ask for photos of all of the parts, including close-ups on serial numbers or other distinguishing features. If the person refuses or makes excuses, do not continue with the deal. Likewise, if you are selling parts, then be absolutely sure that any payment has cleared completely before shipping anything. Where possible, deal locally, face-to-face, or failing that, use PayPal, which affords you a level of buyer protection.
  • The worldwide MG T-Type community is close-knit, and at we know personally many of the individuals that are part of it, so if you have any doubt at all about a transaction, contact us in the first instance before proceeding with any deal.
