I have made a production prototype of a clock that fits into the tachometer of MG TD's. From the front, it looks very much like the original clocks. However, it is actually a battery-powered "watch" with a mounting bracket that allows it to be attached without modifications to a MG TD Tach. The "watch" is made in China but has a Japanese-movement. The face color is in what I believe to be the original light green color but I could make them in more of a light gray color to better match aged, dirty Tach faces. (See image.) I'm thinking of offering these for sale if there is interest. Price would probably be around $75. Would anyone we interested? If so, please email me. Thank you!

IMPORTANT - Please Read

  • It is sad to report that even in our little corner of the internet there are fraudsters and scammers operating. A T-Typer who recently posted a "Wanted" advert has received a response from someone who claimed to have "the parts" he was after, asking for payment via Western Union money transfer (a haven for scammers) and quoting a PO Box address. We can only echo the cautionary note given by Craigslist at the top of every classified ad: Beware any deal involving Western Union, Moneygram, wire transfer, cashier check, money order, shipping, escrow, or any promise of transaction protection/certification/guarantee.
  • When you receive a response to a Wanted advert on, apply common sense. Does the person sound like a T-Typer? Ask for photos of all of the parts, including close-ups on serial numbers or other distinguishing features. If the person refuses or makes excuses, do not continue with the deal. Likewise, if you are selling parts, then be absolutely sure that any payment has cleared completely before shipping anything. Where possible, deal locally, face-to-face, or failing that, use PayPal, which affords you a level of buyer protection.
  • The worldwide MG T-Type community is close-knit, and at we know personally many of the individuals that are part of it, so if you have any doubt at all about a transaction, contact us in the first instance before proceeding with any deal.
