I acquired this car in 2013, it had not been on the road since 1963 and required a full restoration which was carried out during the following 4 years. It was completely stripped and rebuilt. It was fitted with an XPAG engine and 5 speed gearbox. It has been completely rewired and all hydraulics replaced. The wire wheels were refurbished, springs and shock absorbers replaced. A new fuel tank was fitted and radiator recored. All the bright work was re-chromed or replaced. The interior, which has TA Tickford bucket seats, has been re-upholstered in leather. It has a new hood and side screens and a new tonneau cover etc., etc.
The car has had a bare metal respray in Burgundy over black. There is a full photographic record of the restoration and a very interesting history file.

£35,000

IMPORTANT - Please Read

  • It is sad to report that even in our little corner of the internet there are fraudsters and scammers operating. A T-Typer who recently posted a "Wanted" advert has received a response from someone who claimed to have "the parts" he was after, asking for payment via Western Union money transfer (a haven for scammers) and quoting a PO Box address. We can only echo the cautionary note given by Craigslist at the top of every classified ad: Beware any deal involving Western Union, Moneygram, wire transfer, cashier check, money order, shipping, escrow, or any promise of transaction protection/certification/guarantee.
  • When you receive a response to a Wanted advert on ttypes.org, apply common sense. Does the person sound like a T-Typer? Ask for photos of all of the parts, including close-ups on serial numbers or other distinguishing features. If the person refuses or makes excuses, do not continue with the deal. Likewise, if you are selling parts, then be absolutely sure that any payment has cleared completely before shipping anything. Where possible, deal locally, face-to-face, or failing that, use PayPal, which affords you a level of buyer protection.
  • The worldwide MG T-Type community is close-knit, and at ttypes.org we know personally many of the individuals that are part of it, so if you have any doubt at all about a transaction, contact us in the first instance before proceeding with any deal.
