A home market, UK, RHD MG TF sold with its original engine (matching numbers) and registration (on a UK V5).
The car comes with an extensive history file dating back to the early 80’s which show that much money has been spent.
The car is very original but it has been converted to unleaded fuel and an electric fan is fitted.

A very original looking TF that does not (as is too often the case) look as if it has just rolled off the production line it has the correct patina for a 60+ years car. She is in generally in good condition but there is room for improvement. The car is priced to reflect this and to allow the new owner plenty of scope.

Mechanically she is very good indeed, starts easily, no smoke, knocks bangs or rattles and pulls well. Being a later "T-Series" the steering is very precise - quite a change from the pre-war models and the brakes (just overhauled) pull up well too.

The paintwork shines beautifully (it looks as good as the photographs) but has a few spots that need attention. The tips of the front wings have some cracks in the paint and there are areas around the doors that would benefit from attention. I have photographed these to the best of my ability. The body itself is solid.

The trim is in good condition, with a decent hood and lovely custom tonneau cover, there are no side screens. The gauges are correct, original and working as well as ever (the speedo is vague, very common).
Located in Staffordshire £19750.00 or very near offer.

IMPORTANT - Please Read

  • It is sad to report that even in our little corner of the internet there are fraudsters and scammers operating. A T-Typer who recently posted a "Wanted" advert has received a response from someone who claimed to have "the parts" he was after, asking for payment via Western Union money transfer (a haven for scammers) and quoting a PO Box address. We can only echo the cautionary note given by Craigslist at the top of every classified ad: Beware any deal involving Western Union, Moneygram, wire transfer, cashier check, money order, shipping, escrow, or any promise of transaction protection/certification/guarantee.
  • When you receive a response to a Wanted advert on ttypes.org, apply common sense. Does the person sound like a T-Typer? Ask for photos of all of the parts, including close-ups on serial numbers or other distinguishing features. If the person refuses or makes excuses, do not continue with the deal. Likewise, if you are selling parts, then be absolutely sure that any payment has cleared completely before shipping anything. Where possible, deal locally, face-to-face, or failing that, use PayPal, which affords you a level of buyer protection.
  • The worldwide MG T-Type community is close-knit, and at ttypes.org we know personally many of the individuals that are part of it, so if you have any doubt at all about a transaction, contact us in the first instance before proceeding with any deal.
